Phronimamomenon | Art Prints
This Phronima mom and it's little pink babies came into the lab transparent but soon after ate a Beroe abyssicola and turned hot pink.
Phronima and Beroe are both incredible predators but have a cool juxtaposition in how they engage with their prey; Beroe will eat engulf their food whole while Phronima will often slice open their prey to live inside. While the Phronima mom and it's babies stayed inside their previous meal, a salp barrel, the evidence of their cteno lunch was written all across their pink faces.
This was such a cool phenomenon to witness and so cool to photograph.
Available in 5"x7"or 8"x10"art prints on high quality photo paper.
