Look with your arms | Art Prints
Close up of three arms of a Ruby Octopus, suckers towards us, reimagined in glowing color. The arms run blue to teal with purple, pink and magenta suckers.
I've heard octopus described as having a novelty driven nervous system, with most of its nervous system in its arms. It scrutinized the world around it through its suckers, determining what differs between them.
This piece was a nice change of pace. I wanted to play with the tools I had in photopea to make a final image to create a greater range of difference across the arms and suckers as I could while still being recognizable.
I took the original photo in summer of 2024 at Rosario Beach Marine Lab, where researchers there graciously let me photograph their study animals.
Available in 5"x7" or 8"x10"art prints on high quality photo paper.
