Anglerfish Beanie

This anglerfish is a lesbian. You don't have to be a lesbian to buy it, but it would be pretty cool if you were.

When I originally stitched out this patch, I was thinking a lot about a poem my brother had shared with me, "To The Young Anglerfish" by Kay Ryan. I was also thinking of a cherished art piece on my wall made by my friend Carolina Cruz, of an anglerfish saying "Hey gurl, you like light?" This anglerfish is part of an existing precedent of lesbian symbolism.

The beanies are one size fits most and are thick and stretchy.

The base beanie is made of 100% acrylic and can be machine washed in cold water and dried on low heat. The embroidered design is made with Floriani Polyester embroidery thread and metallic thread from Gutterman. The metallic threads in this piece give it extra sparkle and movement in person.

This pattern is licensed from Anita Goodesign, with color design and stitch out by NonCompliant Cyborg.

Image ID 1: An anglerfish embroidered on a black beanie, it's body mostly made up of a variegated green thread that gives a glinting scale appearance. Its fins are paler greens and yellows.
