On Gossamer Wings #2
$12.00 - $20.00
The nereid worms spend most of their life in the mud before they undergo a transformation - their limbs become wing-like and gossamer before they spend the rest of their lives dancing around the reflection of the moon and spawning.
In this photo, taken summer of 2024 at Rosario Beach Marine Lab, we are up close with the belly of the worm. It's skin is a deep magenta, with a holographic effect going up into the chaete. The parapodia have thorns, fine bristles, intricate veination, with the lobes closest to us in pinks and yellow and the outer dorsal lobes a cheery green. The body of the worm curves from the lower left corner up to the right upper corner of the print.
Available in 5"x7"or 8"x10"art prints on high quality photo paper.
