~3" x 2" vinyl sticker with plain waterproof laminate or holographic sparkle laminate

The term "Sparkle Brain" was coined by Karrie Higgins in 2016 [see: https://karriehiggins.wordpress.com/2016/04/23/prince-and-the-sparkle-brains/ ] to describe neurodivergent brains.

This is my Sparkle Brain. My cripqueer cyborg brain.

This piece is inspired by Karrie's discussion of Sparkle Brain, the queer history of lavender, and efforts to reclaim my medical imaging.

This piece started as a patch that I digitized and stitched from my own MRI, which I may have unintentionally self-ordered and helped literally set-up in the control room.

The original piece was stitched with lavender metallic thread and then many pathways are laid out in a variegated metallic thread - which means it constantly shifts colors and catches the light.

Note: The holographic version involves hand cutting the top layer of holographic laminate, which may result in minor differences between stickers and the machine cut edge of the underlying sticker.

Image ID 1: A sticker version of an embroidered patch of a sagittal midline section of JA's brain. The background of the sticker is black, with the main stitching in lavender and all these additional little pathways throughout in a colorful variegated thread.

Image ID 2: Holographic version of the sticker show in bright sunlight revealing a glittery rainbow of dots over the whole sticker.
